With the Iowa State Fair over, individuals have gone home and are looking forward to next year.
There were many children from Adair and Guthrie Counties that were able to compete in a multitude of events, and several were able to come home with awards. For Adair County in livestock events, Collin Hoakison took first in beef showmanship for 5th and 6th grades, while Tucker and Taylor Rohrig had several top two entries in swine events. For Guthrie County, Imersyn Wirt had a Reserve Champion Bred and Owned Simmental Heifer, and Jarrett McClain had two different Purple Ribbon 1st place entries in sheep events.
