Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Volleyball will be the first team to kick off the fall athletic season, as the seniors are looking to enjoy their final year together.

The Tigers were led by five seniors in 2023 as they finished the season 27-4 overall (8-0 inside the Raccoon River Conference) advancing to the state tournament, where they eventually fell to North Scott in the Quarterfinal game. Senior Addison Herrick wants to return to state, but she wants to replicate the chemistry of last year’s team with the girls in 2024.

“Helping our younger girls get involved in the team a little bit more, get a little louder, break them open a little bit. And then also just playing the highest level of volleyball that we can because we were good last year, and we’re trying to get back there this year.”

Senior Madi James is also hungry to get back to Xtream Arena for the state tournament, but basking in her final year is on top of her mind.

“Just taking one game at a time, enjoying the moment just as I am a senior and so it’s some of the last few games that I’ll have with these girls in this uniform too.”

ADM will participate in a scrimmage this Saturday at 9am at Johnston High School, before opening up the regular season in Adel next Thursday, August 29th.
