Coach Chris Heisterkamp has watched her Greene County volleyball get over the .500 mark each of the last three seasons. With seven seniors and other players with varsity experience, it’s realistic to think a fourth straight winning season could take place in 2024.
Payton Kokenge is one of those seniors and she talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about not only winning more than losing, but challenging for a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference title. “We’ve got some good girls coming in and I think we’re really going to start the season strong and really push this season. We have six other seniors, so I think we’re really going to try and get it going now.”
The Rams have a Saturday, Aug. 24 scrimmage hosted by South Central Calhoun, then the regular season officially begins on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Dallas Center-Grimes High School. DC-G plays host to Greene County, Ballard (Huxley), Mason City, and Valley (West Des Moines).
