The Adel Sweet Corn Festival Princess was recently crowned.

The 45th Annual Adel Sweet Corn Festival just wrapped up on August 10th, with Norah Sandquist being awarded the princess of the event. The 2024 crowning included 12 young ladies vying for the princess spot as four girls were competing for the first time. Sandquist is a second grader and tells Raccoon Valley Radio her initial reaction to winning Sweet Corn Festival Princess.

“I’m shocked!”

Sandquist says her favorite aspect of the Sweet Corn Festival is to “have fun.” She had an opportunity to ride in the parade and will be returning in 2025 to assist in crowning next year’s princess. Myla Sara, 2023’s princess, was in attendance to give Sandquist her crown.

The three Princess Courts that joined Sandquist were Joplyn Brokaw, Clare McCauley, and Genevieve Baker.
