Some Guthrie County farmers were recognized on Wednesday at the Iowa State Fair.

Governor Kim Reynolds, along with Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg, Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and Department of Natural Resources Director Kayla Lyon handed out the Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Award to 44 farmers, including Tamara Deal, and Mark and Brennen Vogel in Guthrie County. This award acknowledges farmers who voluntarily take actions to improve and protect the state’s natural resources. Some of these actions include using cover crops, no-till practices, saturated buffers and many more.
