A filing deadline is approaching for individuals to run for certain boards and councils for the November General Election.

Greene County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins says there are four seats on the Greene County Extension Council and three for the Greene County Soil and Water Conservation Commission, and both require a minimum of 25 signatures to be on the ballot. The Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees has four seats and 50 signatures are minimally required. Additionally, there are nine township trustees that will be on the ballot in November. 

Hoskins notes that the deadline to submit nomination papers for any of those local entities is August 28th at 5pm. 

Hoskins says anyone who wants to run a non-party affiliate for any of the elected county positions of Districts 1, 4 and 5 for Supervisors, as well as County Sheriff or Auditor can submit their nomination papers by August 28th at 5pm. A minimum 50 signatures are required for any of those offices. Anyone with questions can contact the County Auditor’s Office at 515-386-5683.
