Perry football will have their lone scrimmage this Friday night in Carroll. The Bluejays are one week into practices and are still prepping for the upcoming season. Head coach Josh Vannornam has one message ahead of the scrimmage. “It’s doing the little things right so you got to play sound football. If you aren’t doing the little things right whether it’s lining up correctly you’re asking questions about what you should be doing.” The Bluejays will continue to focus on the little things to hopefully improve the team in the larger scale of the season. “But if we can’t do that our basic six plays, whatever that is right and correct I don’t think we’re going to have success right so taking it one day at a time so we’re going to keep building on what we have success in these practice so. The little things matter to me. I preach that all the time to the kids.”
Perry will be in Carroll this Friday night for a scrimmage before opening the season in Des Moines against the Huskies at Mediacom Stadium on August 29.
