It’s the second week of high school football practice for the Greene County Rams and other teams around Iowa. Saturday was the first day of full contact in pads and head coach Caden Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio a number of spots are open. “Our slogan with the boys this year is to reset their standard. There’s competition everywhere and we see a lot of our guys coming in and being hard workers now, and in our offseason, too. The guys putting in the time are the ones that’ll get the first shot at positions.”
The Rams scrimmage this Friday in Ogden, then the regular season begins on Aug. 30 vs. Carroll High at Linduska Field in Jefferson at 7 p.m. for a non-district contest. All Greene County varsity football games will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
