New Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School Principal Brian Sauser is already receiving a warm welcome from some of the students, since taking over the job on July 1st.
The AC/GC FFA Chapter recently took Sauser on a tour of Supervised Agricultural Experience projects that some of their members are doing. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio about being able to go out and learn from the students.
“It was great. I was so excited to go out there with Skie (Shull) to see some different kids and their different workplaces. And, you know, it’s amazing. You get out there talking to kids about what they’re doing, and one kid has 40 head of cattle and it’s like you’re talking to a 45 or 50 year old man. It’s amazing the knowledge these kids have, and the other part that’s really good to see is just how involved these kids are in these projects and workplaces outside of school. It kind of gives you a whole different respect level for what these kids do when they’re not just inside the school walls.”
Sauser was able to visit with Will Kading and Gavin Sloss about their cow/calf operations, Nora Langgaard on her dairy goat herd and her plans on its expansion. He also learned about Lilah Heinz’s broiler birds and laying chickens, as well as Rylee Robson’s swine production project.
