A graduate from Perry Community Schools recently gave back to local teachers with a kind gesture.

Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Scott Dickerson, who is a 1981 graduate, offered to purchase school supplies for any Perry Elementary teacher prior to the 2024-2025 school year. Dickerson met the teachers at Target in Urbandale as they walked around the store to buy necessary items. Wicks praises Dickerson for his polite action.

“Kudos to him. What an incredible story and we are very very grateful to Scott just reaching out to us and what a huge contribution. Our teachers were just amazed and full of gratitude, and I think that’s what it’s about right there.”

Wicks adds that Dickerson paid for the school supplies with his own money and that a total of 25 teachers benefited from the sweet offering.
