A senior from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Cross Country team highlights a personal goal she’s striving to accomplish in 2024.
Ella Goodrich is entering her final season as a Tiger and shares that she began running mid-distance and distance in track her freshmen year, then thanks to a friend, she was inspired to try cross country. Goodrich tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there’s been lots of girls attending practices and there been a positive vibe in the early stages.
“We have good numbers coming out this year, and everyone seems really happy every time we go to practice, so morale has been fun. We’ve done a lot of team bonding so far and everyone’s really excited for the season.”
Goodrich was apart of the 2023 team that ran at the state meet in Fort Dodge, and while she is looking to return there, she has a personal goal for herself that she’s hoping will help the team.
“I have a PR (personal record) of 20 minutes and I want to try and hit that again this year, especially at state, I want to try and hit that at state to help the team place at state this year.”
Goodrich comments that she loves running on Gilbert’s course because of it’s flat surface and is anticipating having fun in her senior year with running with her team that share a close bond.
