A senior from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football team finds that his passion derives from a late relative.

Grant Jansen is suiting up to tackle his final football season in a Tiger uniform. Jansen, who will be occupying the Defensive End and Tight End positions, is looped in with the other sports of golf and baseball, but that has not stopped him from putting in the work in the weight room.

“After lifting, we’ll go do some conditioning, push some sleds around. This all really started after Christmas break last year, so I mean it’s been a grind it’s going to be worth it and should be a great time this fall.”

Jansen describes how his late grandpa reminds him to enjoy the little moments at the end of the day.

“He always just showed me how to be a fighter. Whether your day is going good or bad, just keep a smile on your face and just positive attitude towards others.”

Jansen is fan of NFL Tight End George Kittle because of his ability to catch the ball, score touchdowns, but can also block off the offensive line as well. Jansen acknowledges that he’s re-learning the offense with new Head Coach Doug Winkowitsch but is soaking in everything he can.
