Official practice for the 2024 Greene County High School volleyball team began on Monday. Veteran head coach Chris Heisterkamp has an experienced squad coming off a 15-13 record in 2023 that had just two seniors on it. The Rams will be looking for their fourth straight winning season after the program went nine years with records below the .500 mark.

The schedule offers its share of tests right off the bat with a five team tournament at Dallas Center-Grimes High School in Grimes on Aug. 27. Greene County will be by far the smallest school district at the event which includes the host Mustangs, Ballard (Huxley), Mason City, and Valley of West Des Moines, Iowa’s largest high school.

Media Day is scheduled for tomorrow in Jefferson, so Raccoon Valley Radio will have interviews with players and coaches in the days ahead.
