The Perry football team will return its starting quarterback from last year’s squad that went 2-7.  Geren Kenney returns to orchestrate the offense in his senior campaign.  Kenney led the Bluejays in passing and rushing last season.  He threw 7 TD’s in the 9 game season while rushing for an additional 4.  He accounted for 1245 yards of offense between his arm and legs.  First year head coach, Josh Vannornam, is excited to return a play of his caliber.  “We don’t have a running type body this year.  Obviously, Geren is one of our best players.  We’re gonna try and run the offense through him.”  Coach also shared some of the formations we could see this year.  “Essentially it’s gonna be a single back with Geren as a running back/quarterback.  We’re gonna have two running backs/halfbacks in front of him.”

The Bluejays open the season on August 29 at Des Moines Hoover.  The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will continue to look into the position groups of this year’s Perry football team the rest of the week.
