Volunteering to help others is something that many enjoy, but sometimes people aren’t sure how to volunteer, or who to be a volunteer for.
RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program Director Michele Hull says RSVP helps individuals fill that need or want to be a volunteer and help.
“We are a federal grant program through the Corporation for National Community Service, which has now been rebranded as AmeriCorps. We serve individuals in the communities who want to volunteer in the nonprofit, health proprietors, education, government type entities such as the city and the county for helping to meet their needs to volunteer service, for volunteerism. And so we have these partnerships with them that we can place the volunteers to work.”
RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program has many programs that individuals can become involved in after applying and joining the group. To become a volunteer for RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program in Guthrie County, contact Mary Porter at 641-431-0132, or email her at rsvpguthrieco@gmail.com.
