It’s a start of a new era for Perry football.  Josh Vannornam takes over a Bluejay program that hasn’t made the playoffs in over a decade.  Perry is coming off a 2-7 season.  That’s the most wins since 2017.  Practice begins today for the Bluejays.  Coach Vannornam shares what the first week of practice will look like.  “We go and kinda work our way up to full pads to get better prepared for our scrimmage Carroll the 23rd so it would work our way up in the full pads Friday and then we have a training for ETS.”

Perry will play one of the first games in the entire state as they open on Thursday, August 29 at Des Moines Hoover.  Perry beat the Huskies 33-18 to open the season last year at Dewey Field.  Mediacom stadium in Des Moines will host the Thursday night kickoff this go around.  KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will broadcast the entire football season.
