Tomorrow the Greene County Rams begin official football practice. They had their own camp four days last week and took part in the padded camp hosted by Buena Vista University at Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Friday.

The Rams were 3-5 in 2023 and 1-4 in Class 2A District 8, and Greene County missed the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Head coach Caden Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio a number of positions are open this season. There are a number of returning players, although there were a number of seniors on the squad a year ago. The coach added the offseason and Summer workouts have gone well, but there is plenty of work ahead if the Rams are to get back to postseason play.
