The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session on Monday.

The Council will hear a street department update from Public Works Director Jim Henderson, then consider for approval a partial payment to McAninch Corporation for $147,179.53, along with a project completion date extension for McAninch Corporation for the Wambold Third Phase Housing Project, and the final plat map for the project. They will also consider for approval the final pay estimate to Hydro-Klean for $10,003.50 for the 2023 manhole rehabilitation project, as well as accepting final completion and releasing the retainage fee of $9,705.25.

The Council then will consider for approval acceptance of public improvement associated with Casey’s General Store, a sidewalk waiver request for 103 All Saints Drive and maintenance bonds for pavement repairs in the All Saints Housing Development. They will consider for approval public improvements in regards to the Kwik Star, and a change order for the 2023 sanitary sewer system improvements project for $73,155.25.

The Council will also consider for approval a loan agreement for a taxable general obligation insurance fund for $239,000, hold a public hearing regarding a proposal to enter a general obligation police vehicle acquisition loan, and consider authorizing the loan for $76,000. They will then consider for approval the cigarette permit for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2025, a resolution pertaining to a road use report and an ordinance amending the zoning supplementary district regulations.

The Council will consider for approval an ordinance amending the city code to include the definition of a local business and include an annual license fee for a local business, then discuss employee retention and health insurance. Mayor Dick Cook will ask the Council to consider beginning the condemnation process of 420 North Sherman Street, and garbage collection services for the South Summit Apartments.
