A representative from Dallas County will be showing livestock this afternoon at the Iowa State Fair.
Lilly McClure, of Dallas Center, will be on stage at the Governor’s Charity Steer Show this afternoon in Des Moines. According to a press release, 24 steers are planning to be shown as Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is set to make an appearance during the event. McClure first showed her steer at the Dallas County Fair in Adel, then was selected to join 23 others during the governor’s charity show today.
The press release specifies that the money raised will benefit three independent Ronald McDonald House Charities in Iowa (Des Moines, Iowa City, and Sioux City). The Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show has been an ongoing program since 1983 with last year raising more than $500,000, which is a fundraising record. McClure is showing her steer this afternoon at 4:30pm over at the Pioneer Pavilion at the Iowa State Fair, 3000 East Grand Avenue, in Des Moines.
