The annual Cruisin’ to the Square in Jefferson was held Thursday and the winners of the different awards were recently announced.

Co-Organizer Chuck Wenthold said the awards are selected by the sponsors as a way to get them involved with the event. He noted that the winners of the two new awards included Roger and Rhonda Reynoldson with their 2013 Jeep Wrangler and the Aktion Club picked a 2015 Polaris Slingshot that is owned by Cindy Ziegler. He described why he continues to help run Cruisin’ to the Square.

“Getting people together for an evening. I’ve always kind of joked about that this kind of came about that this kind of came out of originally all four Thursdays in August had an event up on the square, and this was kind of the only thing that’s lasted throughout that time. It’s nice to see people from other communities come and see what’s here in Jefferson and people from Jefferson coming up and looking at the cars and just having a nice evening uptown. You know it’s a family-friendly event.”
