Perry volleyball will be well practiced before they take the gym for their first competition.  The Jayettes will be one of the last teams in the state to take the floor.  The Iowa Girls Union allows volleyball matches to begin as early as August 26, but Perry will wait until September 7.  The varsity squad will square off for the first time at SCC Early Bird Tourney in Rockwell City to open the season.  The late start should give first year coach, Lynn Hulgan, more time to learn about her team as she will need to replace 5 seniors.  Practice will begin next Monday for the Jayettes as they look to improve from last years 11-25 season.  Perry also finished tied for 5th in the Heart of Iowa Conference going 2-5.  They lost in the first round of Regionals in three sets to Fort Dodge.
