The Greene County Supervisors will meet tomorrow morning.

The Board will hold two discussions related to a proposed liquid carbon dioxide underground pipeline. One topic is on a letter that the Supervisors sent to the Iowa Utilities Commission objecting to the use of eminent domain. The second topic is about creating a county ordinance that protects homeowners and farmsteads with minimum distances beyond the carbon dioxide’s kill zone, which is a 1,400 feet radius and other safety regulations.

The Board will then consider for approval the 2025 fiscal year renewal with the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP), the retirement of county employee Lisa Tucker, an alcohol license for a wine vendor at Country Blessing’s Fall Festival, and reappointing Karla Janning with Region XII Council of Governments to the Region XII Regional Housing Authority Board. Additionally, the Board will consider for approval calling for an election on a question to change the use of Local Option Sales and Service Tax (LOSST) revenue for the unincorporated parts of the county and that language to appear on the November 5th General Election ballot.

The meeting will take place in person and remotely at 8:30am in the boardroom of the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson. To access the meeting, call 1-253-215-8782 or 1-301-715-8592 with meeting ID 585 769 486, or via Zoom application with a link below.
