West Central Valley School District has two major construction projects that are currently underway.
Superintendent Rusty Shockley mentions that the first major project is the athletic complex parking lot. He mentions that work began earlier in the summer, and has moved into the final stages. Shockley explains that the project should be completed August 15th. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio about the other project to install air conditioning in the middle school gym.
“The only thing that’s holding us up there right now is the unit. We’re waiting on it to be built. We’re supposed to be seeing it around the first of September. I think they’re going to start doing some preliminary work on ductwork and other things here real quick. So that should all start ramping up and that should be completed in early fall.”
Shockley mentions that the money for the projects comes from Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) and Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) funds.
