The summer reading program is quickly approaching the finish line for the adults at a local library.
The Perry Public Library is bringing its summer reading program to a close by throwing a finale party tomorrow. Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the get-together is taking place at the Tin Pig Tavern, 1201 2nd Street, in Perry from 6-7pm.
“You can come and we’ll have the room there, and you can get some appetizers and we’ll have a few games. You can socialize with your friends and then learn who wins the grand prizes.”
Farmer reveals that the top prize is a kayak, and runs through the other items that will be given away.
“The glider swing has been really popular, of course that griddle, and then the portable power battery, and then the two stadium seats.”
The event is open to the public but the grand prizes are eligible for people that were participants in the summer reading program.
