Families can still sign up to get their children into a fun program at Mary J Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a fun, free event for younger children. She adds it promotes reading and learning skills early in life, and has a large selection of age appropriate books for endless possibilities during storytimes. The program is open for all families with children that are newborns up to five years old, with registration available by visiting the library’s website at www.guthriecenter.lib.ia.us, or calling them at 641-747-8110.
