Dallas Center – Grimes schools is enjoying family week this week, but with the fall sports calendar around the corner Dallas Center – Grimes Mustang football, they will be getting ready in the near future.

The nine game DCG schedule will begin with a home opener on August 30th when they take on the Gilbert Tigers in Grimes. The rest of their non-district schedule is at Newton, at Fort Dodge, then home vs. Ballard. The district schedule starts on September 27th when they take on Council Bluffs – Thomas Jefferson, at Norwalk, vs. Glenwood, at Winterset, and vs. Lewis Central.

The Mustangs finished 4-5 last year and will be looking to put together a bounce back season under the direction of coach Scott Heitland. Mustang football is projected to bring back some key starters on both offense and defense.

The first day of practice for football around the state of Iowa will be on August 12th for football and all of fall sports.
