A representative from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office sheds light on the traffic-related incident that occurred just outside of Perry on July 24th.

Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante tells Raccoon Valley Radio that two people were involved in the crash by the Casey’s General Store on the outskirts of the City of Perry. Infante details that 61-year-old Brian Terry, of Des Moines, was driving a semi-truck eastbound on Iowa Highway 141 at Sumas Avenue when a 2016 Ford Edge, driven by 81-year-old Billie Wilson, of Jamaica, traveling northbound failed to yield pulling into the intersection and collided with Terry’s semi-truck.

According to Infante, Wilson and a passenger were taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, while Terry refused medical service at the scene. The semi-truck was estimated at $15,000 in damages while the Ford Edge is estimated at around $20,000.

Assisting on the scene during the collision was the Perry Fire Department, Perry Police, Perry First Responders, Dallas County Emergency Management Service, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office. Infante concludes that no arrests or citations have been made at this time.
