With it being family week this week in the state of Iowa, school related activities are cancelled for the week so that students can spend time with their families before the school year begins. West Central Valley Wildcat volleyball coach Kelly Hammond, spoke on how a break from the action in the summer is very needed for the athletes. Coach Hammond said, “athletes are able to take that week to just kind of spend a week out of the weight room, out of the gym, and spend time with their family and just have one real good last week of summer kind of. Then the next week when they come back various sports have camps and things like that and then the practices will start one week after that. I actually think its a good thing. I think every kid deserves to have a good summer break.”
