There are some new faces on the West Central Valley School Board.

Superintendent Rusty Shockley says that Matt Pruitt and Donny Teague both resigned from the Board earlier in the year. He mentions that Pruitt moved out of the district he was representing, and Teague took a position with the school as a paraeducator, and tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he is thankful for the work both did while on the Board.

“They’ve been on the Board a couple of years. Did a really good job. Matt (Pruitt) served as our Board President last year. So, we wish them well and thank them for their service.”

Shockley explains that Dustin Foster and Jeff Dudley were both sworn in at the July Board meeting after winning in their respective areas in the special election that was held on July 9th , and that he’s looking forward to seeing how they do.

“I’m excited to work with them. I know both of them from being in the community. They were in on Friday (July 19th), and we kind of did some on-boarding with them. Went through some financials, talked about what they’ll see at Board meetings. So I think that it’s going to be a huge learning curve for them, but I think they’re both up for the challenge.”

The two members will finish out the current terms they are filling, and will have to run for election again once those terms are up if they would like to continue serving on the Board.
