Greene County head boys’ basketball coach Chris Nelson told Raccoon Valley Radio that although most of his players on the 2024-25 team were involved in other sports and activities, they managed to keep their hands on a basketball in the off-season as well. “We did mainly Monday and Wednesday morning workouts. We worked on shooting, ball handling, just different skill work. We worked on some plays, both offensively and defensively, and had some guys do Summer League over in Carroll, and did pretty well with that. We also did a Team Camp, and held Open Gyms every other Sunday just to keep a ball in their hands and improving.”

The Rams found wins tough to come by last season with a 2-20 record and they were last in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference at 1-13. Several players from that team graduated, so there are opportunities for playing time in 2024-25.
