The Greene County Farmers Market continues on Tuesday evenings on South Chestnut Street and East Lincoln Way.

Several vendors have lots of produce, along with baked goods, and homemade crafts for sale on Tuesdays from 4-6:30pm. Another aspect that started this year are food vouchers for individuals who utilize the local food pantry in Jefferson. Greene County Action Resource Center Manager Shirley Haupert encourages families with children that received those vouchers from a donation to use those as an additional food source on top of what they get from the food pantry.

“The clients from our food pantry get a $10 voucher system that they can buy produce or meat at the farmers market. You get just a one time, as I understand it, a one time voucher that they can spend at the farmers market.”

This Tuesday’s Greene County Farmers Market features the Town and Country Band performing with the Christ Lutheran Church serving a fundraising meal for $8. The Greene County Farmers Market is every Tuesday through September 10th.
