Eight individuals representing Dallas County are gearing up to compete at a livestock show this afternoon.

The Heartland Throwdown is an annual competition that sees eight counties from the state of Iowa battle for a chance to make it to the All Iowa Showdown. The All Iowa Showdown is a statewide competition that is determined by qualifiers from regional livestock shows. 

The 4-H’ers that are participating in the Heartland Throwdown today include Emmett Luellen, Cohen Crooks, Nash Droppert, Jaylee Zika, Kinsey Hick, Levi Hick, Taylor Noah, and Matilyn Lautner. The competition is taking place at the Story County Fairgrounds main show ring at 1pm. Find the full list of livestock being shown below.
