Perry Police Cheif Eric Vaughn spoke at Baxter's request

Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn warns drivers to be cautious on the new paved road in the city.

The City of Perry recently conducted updates to Willis Avenue to smooth it out, and the improvement naturally causes people to want to speed up. However, Chief Vaughn kindly reiterates to still obey the speed limit along the road to avoid any accidents. 

“Watch your speed because I know it’s easy for that speed to creep up on you without you even noticing, so be mindful of that. You got that big heads up display in most cars now, so just take an extra look at that as you’re going down the road, especially down Willis.”

Vaughn describes that most of the drivers in Perry are honoring the speed limit as the department hasn’t caught a lot of drivers disobeying. He understands that it’s typical to want to speed, but advises against it.
