For almost two months, a Greene County resident has taken the reins of a new position that crosses several county lines.

ISU Extension Regional Director Lori Mannel took over for Rich Wragge at the beginning of June after she served as the Greene County Extension Director. Mannel now oversees not only Greene County Extension, but also Guthrie, Carroll and Boone County Extensions. She describes how she thinks things have been going.

“It’s going well. I really enjoy learning from the other county (Extensions), seen what they did, (and) sharing ideas back and forth because I think we can learn from each other. It’s been fun.”

Mannel also interacts with each Extension Council and is helping to fill a few positions in some of the Extension Offices, including finding a new Greene County Extension Director. Mannel adds that she is looking forward to getting everything organized for each of the four counties and settling on figuring out when she can be in each county Extension Office.
