Dallas Center – Grimes baseball concluded their season on Tuesday at the 4A state tournament in Cedar Rapids, falling by the score of 3-1 to Dowling Catholic. The Mustangs conclude one of their finest seasons in program history with a 35-4 record.

The season was full of remarkable accomplishments, including winning the Little Hawkeye Conference outright, an 18 game winning streak, winning the Prange Classic, and being the Class 4A Substate 2 Champions in postseason play. They also were regularly ranked in the top three of the class 4A poll.

The Mustangs were able to have tremendous senior leadership in their 2024 class, as they had nine total guys on the team. The nine on the roster includes Ty Mikkelsen, Keaton Fenn, Logan Young, Eli Rupp, Ryley Palm, Brandon Bailiff, Preston Palm, Dayne Mauk, and Caden Klug.

The Mustangs will be projected to have some great talent back on next years team, as they will look to reload and make a return trip to the state tournament in 2025.
