The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team was apart of some exciting sequences during the 2024 season, that Head Coach Jason Book relishes.
The Tigers were a couple of games away from qualifying from the state tournament, but the good news is that much of their roster will stay intact for the 2025 season. A big moment in the Class 3A Substate 2 First Round game against the Ballard Bombers saw Senior Rhylan Stine-Smith blast a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put ADM in front 3-2, where they would go on to win. Head Coach Jason Book loves to see his players have time to celebrate the victories within the game as the sport of baseball brings lots of challenges.
“You’re going to fail more than you succeed, everybody knows that. When you get that big moment, and you succeed at something you’ve been trying to do for a long time, it’s an unexplainable joy. The happiness inside of your body, it’s kind of like a dole tingle. Time slows down for a second and you enjoy every step that you’re taking around those bases.”
Book emphasizes that each player works hard to attain that goal, but doesn’t always get the opportunity, so when it does come around it’s special. The Tigers are looking forward to bringing more memorable moments to the baseball diamond in the years to come.
