IowaWorks is adjusting hours at the Des Moines Area Community College VanKirk Academy in Perry to assist former Tyson Foods employees.
IowaWorks has been in the City of Perry helping with the aftermath of the Tyson Foods closure on June 28th. The organization is stationed at Perry’s DMACC VanKirk Academy to provide outlets for former employees to find new jobs. According to IowaWorks, the transition center is to aid people with unemployment claims support, offer one-on-one career counseling, and seek job opportunities and placement assistance.
The center will be available to the community Tuesdays through Thursdays from noon to 6pm at DMACC, but IowaWorks stresses that people need to be in house by 5pm in order to be seen. For more information, contact IowaWorks at (515)-281-9619.
