With the 2024-25 school year to begin in less than one month for Greene County and Paton-Churdan School Districts, one organization is seeking donations of school items for less fortunate children.
Greene County New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman says the Back to School Supply Drive is going on now through August 16th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio needed school items can be donated at several locations, including the New Opportunities office in Jefferson at 1401 North Elm Street, Jefferson Telecom and local churches in the county.
Lansman points out 185 kids or 85 families were served last year with this program and after each child receives the proper amount of school supplies, she gives the schools in the county what is leftover as they need them. The list of accepted items can be found below.
