The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team graduates four seniors from the 2023-2024 team and Head Coach Jason Book is grateful for their contributions over the years.

The Tigers’ fell just short of the state tournament. However, throughout the season, ADM went through growing pains and it was the seniors on the team that propelled the confidence to start winning games consistently. The four Tiger seniors are Ben Greth, Sam Kock, Rhylan Stine-Smith, and Grant Rychnovsky. Book calls them great young men that are fun to be around, and expresses his appreciation for each of them.

“Just the time and effort that they all put into being a member of the baseball program made us better and raised our level of play.”

Book continues to praise Stine-Smith and Rychnovsky as they were key starters for the past four years.

“They developed and got so much better as they matured and really helped take our program to another level, and we’re going to miss them greatly as they move on and go do bigger and brighter and greater things in their lives. Can’t replace them and we’re not going to try to, we’re just going to find the next best guy and put him in that spot and hopefully they can match what they’ve seen on the field the last few years from those players.”

Book highlights the future plans for each one of the seniors. Kock will be apart of the Bowling Team at Grand View University in Des Moines. Stine-Smith is also attending GVU to further his basketball career, while Rychnovsky is continuing his baseball career at Northwestern College in Orange City. Book shares special words about Greth on how he was a Rockstar manager throughout the last four years by running the Gamechanger App as well as running videos for games, and offering encouragement to the team.

ADM posted a 16-15 overall record (9-7 inside the Raccoon River Conference) and although the Tigers were close to qualifying for the state tournament, it was a remarkable run this season.
