The Jefferson Public Library invites the public to a special class that is an arm of the Summer Reading Programs.

Library Director Jane Millard says a paper making event is on Saturday from 10am-noon in the basement of the library. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio participants will learn how to take scraps of paper and remake them into usable sheets of paper. Millard talks about how this class coincides with this year’s Summer Reading Program of “Read, Renew, Repeat!”

“That theme kind of focuses on recycling. While planning the Summer Reading Programs this year, Sarah Roeder who is one of our librarians, and myself discovered that we had a common interest. We both enjoy making handmade paper. That’s a great example of recycling. So it fits right into our theme.”

There are limited spots available for this free program. Contact the library at 515-386-2835 or stop by the adult department to sign up.
