The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team’s season is over, but they competed well in a tough conference.
The Tigers’ season ended at the hands of the North Polk Comets on Tuesday as both teams represent the Raccoon River Conference. During the 2024 season, ADM finished with an overall record of 16-15 (9-7 RRC) behind Bondurant-Farrar (11-5 RRC) and North Polk (13-3 RRC). The Tigers beat each time in their conference at least once, with the exception of Boone. ADM Head Coach Jason Book knows that each night playing a RRC team is going to be a tough task.
“Every night we’re going to play a high quality baseball game against a really really good opponent. Those are the things that help prepare you for the postseason, which is also why our conference usually has a lot of success in the postseason. A lot of us get clumped up together into one big group and it’s not uncommon to have one, two, sometimes three of our teams in the state tournament.”
This year, North Polk is the only team out of the RRC to qualify for the state tournament. However, alongside the Comets, ADM, Ballard, and Boone were all playing in the Class 3A Substate 2 Division, with Gilbert in Substate 6, Carlisle in Substate 7, then Bondurant-Farrar and Carroll in Substate 8.
