The Greene County Board of Supervisors will meet in special session on Friday.
The one agenda item is slated to start at 8:45am and it is a discussion with the architect firm, BBS Architects and engineers, about the HVAC designs and plans for the Greene County Courthouse. At the July 1st meeting, the Board approved an additional $52,568 for the design process to continue with BBS.
The Supervisors have $1.8 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds remaining, which they are intending to use to pay for the $3.2 million HVAC project for the courthouse. There is an additional $300,000 in reserves that are also tabbed for the project as well. The Board is planning to try another public referendum to be able to use the current Local Option Sales and Services Tax (LOSST) funds to pay for the rest of the project. The November general election would be the next time the Board is looking to put the measure back on the ballot.
Friday’s special meeting begins at 8:30am in the boardroom of the courthouse.
