Dallas Center – Grimes baseball will be on the field tonight in their Class 4A Substate 2 Championship game when they take on Sioux City East with the winner to go to the state tournament next week in Fort Dodge. The Mustangs come into the matchup with a 34-3 record while the Black Raiders march in with a 26-13 record.

DCG got a semifinal bye but was able to win their first round game over Sioux City West 15-0 in four innings. Sioux City East had a tough first round game against West Des Moines Valley but found the win 3-2 before defeating Ankeny easily in the semifinals 8-1.

These two teams matched up back on June 24th with DCG winning a very competitive game 4-3. Keaton Fenn was able to pitch five innings in the contest recording seven strikeouts while giving up three runs. Cross Bandy was able to pick up two hits and two RBIs as well.
