The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During reports, County Attorney Thomas Laehn said the Greene County Conservation Board approved the new rules and regulations for the county parks. Those will take effect on August 1st. He also reminded the Board that with the new law concerning county compensation boards, and that if they want to continue having that entity, to pass a resolution. Laehn believed that if the Supervisors didn’t pass a resolution, then a compensation board would cease to exist.
The Board then heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Scott Peterson. He said work on the intersections along East Lincoln Way was going to continue for a few more days before the road is resurfaced. He talked about construction of the new pickleball courts at Russell Park to start in August and could be done by Thanksgiving. Finally, Peterson mentioned that housing developer KCG Companies was recently awarded housing tax credits and will begin building rental units near Ace Hardware, with the project likely to be completed by Spring of 2026.
The Board also approved the county auditor’s quarterly passport report for April through June as presented.
