Greene County ended the 2024 varsity baseball season with a 2-20 record. There were no seniors on the team and head coach Kyle Stalder was asked by Raccoon Valley Radio what effect that may have had. “Normally, your upper classmen lead the team and last year we had a number of sophomores get varsity playing time. As juniors, I think some of them wanted to step into more of a leadership role, but maybe they didn’t know how.”
The coach added, “With so many juniors this season, we’ll be having those conversations soon about how as seniors they see their roles as team leaders.”
The season ended with a 15-0 loss in four innings via the 15-run rule on Friday to Class 3A third ranked North Polk in Alleman in the opening round of Substate play.
