A donation was recently given to the Perry Area Emergency Food Council.
According to a press release, First Interstate Bank and the First Interstate BancSystem Foundation donated $25,000 to the Perry Food Council as part of their third annual Believe in Local grant campaign. First Interstate Bank announces that the Believe in Local campaign began in 2022 to embrace the organization’s longstanding commitment to the communities it serves.
Perry Pantry Volunteer Coordinator Lois Hoger tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Sarah Cerwinske, who is apart of the food pantry as well as an employee of First Interstate Bank in Perry is responsible for the pantry receiving the grant. Perry Food Pantry Manager Lou Hoger is grateful for the donation, emphasizing that it came at the right time while the numbers are increasing at the food pantry. The funds will help address hunger and food assistance.
