The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team will on the road tonight to take on a Raccoon River Conference opponent in the Class 3A Substate 2 Second Round game.

The Tigers are traveling to Alleman tonight to square off against the North Polk Comets, with a trip to the regional championship on the line. ADM beat Ballard 6-2 on Friday and it was a 15-0 North Polk shutout versus Greene County to advance to the second round. The Tigers and Comets split the regular season games this year, with each team winning at their home field.

Statistically this season, North Polk scores about 6.5 runs per game, while ADM is at 4.6. For the Tigers, they’ve scored 137 runs and the Comets are at 194 coming into tonight. North Polk came out on top in the RRC posting a 24-6 overall record (13-3 RRC), while ADM is 16-14 overall (9-7 RRC).

The winner will face off against either Boone or Algona for a chance to qualify for the state tournament. First pitch is now set for 8pm, with Raccoon Valley Radio carrying the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, beginning at 7:45pm.
