The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team advanced to the regional championship after Lauren Hagedorn marked an incredible individual performance.

The Tigers defeated the Indianola Indians 9-2 in the Class 4A Region 4 Division on Saturday night. ADM started off in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run home run from Hagedorn, bringing in Cameran Smith, who leadoff with a single. The Tigers would follow with scoring one run in the second, then exploding for five in the third to extend the lead 8-0. The Indians didn’t quit as they ended up scoring two runs in the top of the fifth to trim the lead 8-2. This seem to wake up the bats for Indianola, but ADM was able to keep them at bay. Hagedorn hit another home run in the top of the sixth to secure the 9-2 victory.

Hagedorn now leads ADM with 11 home runs and discusses her strategy at the plate.

“I really just work on keeping my weight back, and then not overthinking my swing, and keeping it all relaxed and not overthinking it.”

Hagedorn scored three times for the Tigers, finishing the contest going 3-4 with two home runs and a single. Aleah Johnson went 3-3 with an RBI and one run scored. The other Tigers that came across include Lauryn Troster, Aubrey Noring, Madi James, Olivia Wyant, and C. Smith. For the Indians, Kyra Robins and Sully Downey captured the two runs.

Indianola finishes the year 20-18 overall and graduate three seniors. ADM is 28-9 and will now host the regional championship game Tuesday at 7pm in Adel against the Winterset Huskies. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, starting at 6:45pm.
