Iowa State Fair static exhibit qualifiers

Tomorrow has lots of youth activities for the final day of the 2024 Greene County Fair.

The public is invited to the livestock judging contest in the show ring at 11am, with registrations starting at 10:30am. Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says this is open for everyone.

“There’s several different divisions, even an adult division. You guys (the adults) won’t be considered for an award, but it’s always fun as adults to be able to participate. If I wasn’t busy personally, I know I would sign up to participate.”

The inflatables are at 1pm with the Greene County Fair Board and Legacy Events sponsoring that for free. The Round Robin Showmanship takes place in the show ring at 1:30pm and then all static exhibits check-out at Clover Hall at 4pm and all livestock can start leaving the fairgrounds at 5pm.

Monday at 8:30am will be the Junior Fair Premium Auction. Hardaway appreciates the Greene County Fair Board for hosting this event as a way to recognize all of the youth that show at the county fair.

“It’s really a great way that the community supports them to continue those endeavors as they want to continue their 4-H or FFA career. So I really encourage all of the kids to attend that, but also encourage the community to come out and support those kids and hear about those accomplishments and continue to reward them for the hard work that they put in.”

Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio is continuing to broadcast live today from the fairgrounds from 10am-6pm and tomorrow from 10am-3pm.
