master-gardeners

The Master Gardener training program is open for applications across the state of Iowa.

This program will teach interested individuals about horticulture, as they learn through online and in person workshops. Classes for the program will take place from September 3rd to November 8th, with an on campus class in Ames on October 26th. To officially become a Master Gardener, individuals will need to finish the course after applying and being selected to participate, then volunteer for 40 hours in their training county by the end of the next calendar year, and stay involved after completing the internship by taking 10 hours of classes to continue their education and volunteering 20 hours annually.
